Sinopsis
Cada año un creciente número de niños emigran hacia los Estados Unidos sin padres ni guardián legal. En cualquier momento un promedio de 700 menores de edad no acompañados están detenidos por el Departamento de Seguridad Nacional de los Estados Unidos. Algunos llegan al país buscando asilo, otros con la esperanza de reunirse con familiares que ya emigraron; todos anhelan un futuro mejor. Estos niños están impulsados por un fuerte instinto de sobrevivencia, convencidos de que los Estados Unidos es su último recurso, su salvación. Arriesgan todo por una oportunidad de vida nueva.
Every year, more and more children are immigrating to the United States without a parent or legal guardian. At any given time, an average of 700 unaccompanied minors is being detained by the US Department of Homeland Security Department. Some of these children come to the United States seeking asylum, others with the hope of being reunited with family members already living here, and all are simply in search of a better future for themselves. These children are driven by a strong survival instinct that assures them that the US is their last resource, their salvation. They are willing to risk it all for a chance at a new life. And they do.
